There's not a false note here, and the entire supporting cast -- Madsen, Oh, Church and Marylouise Burke as Miles's Mother -- is uniformly excellent.. With four fine films under his belt, Payne should be regarded as an American treasure.. As character study, as exercise in American ambiance or, simply as an entertaining movie, Sideways triumphs..
