So aggressively bland and inoffensive that it practically recedes from the screen.. The most surprising thing about this movie is just how little humor or heart it has.. Even if the parents in the audience roll their eyes at this movie's flimsy plot, clumsy dialogue and unbelievable characters, young girls will no doubt fall for the fantasy.. . Gina Wendkos' script, based on Meg Cabot's novel, leaves much to be desired.. An ideal family film.. Bumpy but endearing.. Pretty and pretty amusing but ...
