Let's Be Cops has its moments, but it in no way distinguishes itself.. Yes, the movie adaptation is just fine, thank you.. It's touching, it's funny, it offers cautions about the modern pace of life, and it depends on a sense of rural Americana for its soul.. The promising tang of something anarchically amusing is in the air, which makes the rote, slipshod and unfunny rest of the movie all the more dispiriting - like a drug that's as much fun as precinct paperwork.. All power to Firth the actor....
